Baulin - Alpage du Glacier

The trail rises steeply from Baulin (1771 m) to the Alpe du Glacier (2163 m) in the high-alpine sector of La Salle, gaining 700 m over just 3.8 km. From the very start the landscape is already alpine: sparse vegetation gives way to high pastures and glacier-carved rock as altitude increases. The proximity of the glacier makes the upper section particularly dramatic. A strenuous but rewarding climb for experienced hikers. Rated E.
