Fitness level
A short rural walk connecting the hamlets of Mayn (1058 m) and Curien (1224 m) in the lower Val d'Ayas, covering 3 km with 259 m of ascent. The path follows old inter-village tracks through a landscape of dry-stone terraces, chestnut groves and traditional Valdostan rural architecture. Stone and timber granges, raccards and farmhouses line the route, offering an insight into centuries of mountain agriculture. This is an ideal outing for those interested in the cultural and built heritage of the Aosta Valley rather than high-altitude scenery.
