From Paysan at 1079 m, this 3.1 km trail climbs 425 metres to the historic Bechaz Mines at 1505 m. The Val d'Ayas has a centuries-long mining tradition, and Bechaz preserves some of its most evocative remains: shafts, spoil heaps and ruined structures half-reclaimed by forest. A moderately demanding ascent through chestnut and birch woodland, rewarding hikers interested in alpine industrial heritage.
