TrailS2Description

Fitness level

Beginning near the Ponti Romani (764 m) in Challand-Saint-Victor — where Roman-era bridges attest to centuries of human passage — this 3.3 km route climbs 600 m to Tron damon (1285 m) along a sun-drenched, thermophilous slope. Oak, manna ash, rock rose and aromatic herbs lend the hillside a near-Mediterranean character rare in the Alpine environment. The sustained gradient makes it a stiff climb, but the botanical interest and historical echoes reward the effort. A fine option in late spring when higher elevations are still snowbound.
